We want you to feel as comfortable as possible visiting our Web site, so we are committed to providing you with the highest-quality information, products and service along with the highest level of integrity and security. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard all personal information that you give to us.
Information We Collect
At ParentYourParents.com, we collect both personally identifiable information and aggregate information.
Personally identifiable information includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, etc. We only collect personally identifiable information if you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly, such as providing us with your name and address via email. We do not require you to register or provide this information to use our site or have access to its contents.
We also collect identifiable information from organizations and companies interested in advertising with us. This includes name, address, telephone and fax number, email address, industry type, and advertising area of interest. We collect this information for internal use by ParentYourParents.com sales, network and business development, and do not collect this information for resale to third parties. Users may access and update information submitted online by emailing us at info@parentyourparents.com.
Aggregate information relates to things such as how many people visit our site, which pages they access, what information they download, the type of web browser and operating system you us, the name of your internet service provider, etc. When you visit our site, we automatically collect this information and combine it with similar information collected about all other visitors, to learn how to best tailor our site for our visitors.
We also collect information about your use of our site through the use of “Cookies.” A cookie is a small text-only file that is stored on your computer that allows us to know how often someone visits our site. This information helps us customize our Web site for you and also allows us to statistically monitor how many people are using our site and for what purpose. Cookies cannot retrieve personal information from your computer, and we have no control over or access to these cookies. You can use ParentYourParents.com with Cookies disabled, however, you may lose the ability to purchase products and/or services from our advertisers and providers.
Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
ParentYourParents.com may provide your aggregate information to third parties which does not allow you to be identified or contacted. For example, we might inform third parties regarding the number of users of our site and the activities they conduct while on our site. We might also inform a pharmaceutical company (that may or may not be an advertiser on our site) that “20% of our users live west of the Mississippi” or that “15% of our users have looked into Elder legal services.” This information will not include credit card data or any other personal information, and will not be released or sold to third parties.
If you correspond with us via email, the return email address will be used to answer your email. We may retain the content of your email messages to us along with your email address and our replies. We do not use the return email address for any other purpose. Email that you send to us, and that we send to you, is not secure correspondence, therefore, we ask that you do not send confidential information such as credit card or account numbers to anyone through an unsecured email. We will NEVER ask you to send sensitive personal information such as credit card or Social Security numbers via email.
If you receive an email that appears to come from us and the email asks you to confirm your credit card number, your Social Security number, or any other sensitive personal information via a return email, that email is a scam even if the email says that your product will not be delivered unless you provide the information.
NEVER update any sensitive personal information via an email. And, NEVER click on a link in an email that says it will take you to a secure page on a merchant’s Web site. Instead, ALWAYS go directly to the Web site of the merchant to whom you need to provide updated information. The merchant will provide you with a secure page on which you can update your account information.
For your convenience, ParentYourParents.com includes links to other Web sites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are “clicking” to another Web site. Because other Web sites are not owned or controlled by us, we are not responsible for the privacy practices used by other Web sites linked to or from our Web site. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of these sites as their privacy policy may differ from ours.
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law, when we believe that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.
